HPtM Data Collection

Description of the problem

a. Error code of the most recent failure(s).
b. Command and arguments that generated the failure.
c. Date and time of the most recent failure.
d. When did the first failure occur?
e. Did the command ever work successfully? If so, when?
f. What is the name of the server that the command was run on?

GetConfig

Run GetConfig on all clustered application nodes and the HPtM Backup Server

Note: GetConfig will capture the HPtM logs for you - so there is no need to run the next step if you run GetConfig.

HPtM Data Collection

Manual HPtM data collection can be run on all clustered application nodes (ie. Exchange nodes) and the HPtM Backup (maintenance) Server. Run the following command:

[HPtM-installation-path]\bin\util\drm_log.bat C:\TEMP\drmlogs

This will collect all HPtM configuration files and logs.

Subsystem Information

Collect subsystem information including Model type, serial number, and microcode version. Collect a DF Trace or RAID Dump if requested by GSC.

HDLM

If HDLM is installed on any server in the HPtM configuration, please collect the DLMgetras output.

VSS

For advanced VSS related HPtM problems, it may be required to configure each server to collect the detailed VSS Trace Log (requires a reboot) and then duplicate the problem.
