VMware Support Questions

Expedite the troubleshooting process for the most common issues by reviewing and answering the following questions for your product. 

General Troubleshooting Questions

  1. Please describe the issue in detail, screenshot of error would be helpful.
  2. Time of the issue? Were Logs collected right after the issue?
  3. What is the ESXi host version?
  4. If storage related, What is the Array model and serial number?
  5. How many hosts in DRS cluster?
  6. How many Datastores configured for the cluster/host in question?
  7. Is VAAI enabled? (Host Mode Option 54, ad 63 enabled in Array for the hostgroups?)
  8. Were there any changes made to the environment? (Software updates, hardware failures, zoning updates, HBA driver updates, etc.)
  9. Is the issue multipathing related? What version of HDLM? “dlmgetras” logs collected?
  10. How is this problem affecting you? (loss of access to disk, impacted applications, etc.)
