Installation
The information described on this page is intended for customers who have selected the self-installation option for their VSP G130, VSP G350, VSP G370 or VSP F350, VSP F370 system. The self-installation option is not available for VSP G700, VSP G900 and VSP F700, VSP F900 systems.
Installation of VSP G130, VSP G/F350, and G/F370 involves setting up the storage hardware, registering the product, setting up the remote monitoring system, and notifying Hitachi Vantara that your system is installed with Hitachi Remote Ops monitoring enabled.
Step 1: Verify the system configuration
The installation procedure depends on your system configuration. Refer to the packing list and identify whether your system includes a service processor (SVP), listed as the "1U management server".
Step 2: Install your VSP G/F system

VSP G/F350 and G/F370
If your system includes an SVP, see Installing your storage system that includes an SVP.

Register your storage system with the Support Website
Log in to the Support Website here. If you do not already have an account, you will need to register. When registering, you will be asked for information about the product you own. For Product Name, enter VSP G130 G/F350 G/F370 G/F700 G/F900 and your product serial number, which is labeled MFG. NO. on the rear of the controller.
Set up the Hitachi Remote Ops Monitoring system
Download the Hitachi Remote Ops monitoring system software and Installation Guide here. You'll need your site ID when configuring the Hitachi Remote Ops monitoring system. To locate the Site ID, view My Sites/Products on the Support Website. If you do not see your site listed, you will first need to add the site.
Notify Hitachi Vantara
After you have configured the Hitachi Remote Ops monitoring system with the correct Site ID open a Case on the Support Website to let us know the system is installed and Hitachi Remote Ops monitoring system is enabled.
