The NDMP resource provides management for general NDMP options and NDMP devices.
- Child Topics
- NDMP object model
The object model describing this resource contains the following objects.
- Get NDMP options
Get general NDMP configuration options for the storage system.
- Set NDMP options
Set general NDMP configuration for the storage system.
- Enable NDMP
Enable NDMP access to the storage device.
- Disable NDMP
Disable NDMP access to the storage device.
- Clear NDMP backup history
Clears the NDMP backup history for all virtual servers. Once the backup history is cleared, subsequent backups will be full rather than incremental backups.
- Get NDMP snapshot options
Gets the options that control the snapshot behaviour when taking an NDMP backup.
- Set NDMP snapshot options
Set the options that control the snapshot behaviour when taking an NDMP backup. These options are only relevant for automatically generated snapshots, and do not affect backups taken via snapshot rules or from the live file system.
- Get NDMP devices
Gets a list of media changer and tape drives connected to the system that may be available for use via NDMP.
- Get NDMP device
Gets details for a specific NDMP device.
- Update NDMP device
Update the name of an NDMP device that will be used by NDMP clients. This operation can also be used to enable or disable access to an NDMP device.
- Delete NDMP device
NDMP devices maintain the same ID even if they disappear and then reappear. If the device is permanently disconnected, the HNAS will continue to remember the ID unless it’s specifically requested to delete it.
- Assign NDMP device to virtual server(s)
NDMP devices can be assigned to an induvial virtual server, or be configured as a shared resource, accessible by any virtual server. Assigning an NDMP device to a specific virtual server prevents all other virtual servers from being able to use it.
- Unassign NDMP device from its virtual server(s)
Removes the NDMP device to virtual server assignment. Once the assignment has been removed, the NDMP device can no longer be used for backups.
- Refresh NDMP devices
Checks for any changes in media changer and tape drives connected to the system that may be available for use via NDMP.
