ucp-advisor-sidecar is not restarting after a crash.

1. Find the Process IDs for the Local Address containing port 23016.

C:\Windows\system32>netstat -a -n -o | findstr :23016

  TCP    0.0.0.0:23016          0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       3456

  TCP    [::]:23016             [::]:0                 LISTENING       3456

2. Stop all processes with the following PID:

C:\Windows\system32>TaskKill.exe /F /PID 3456

Success: The process with PID 3456 has been terminated.

3. Wait for 2 minutes and verify that ucp-advisor-sidecar is RUNNING.

1309

Editing a port from trunk to access or vice versa is not allowed if the port count in the VLAN is unchanged.

Remove the VLAN from the port and re-add it with the correct setting.

1319

Toolbox: Script failed to create command device if undefined LDEV has virtual LDEV ID.

Remove virtual LDEV ID from undefined LDEV ID manually and create the command device from the Toolbox.

1351

Create host group dialog box launched from a manual action does not set the host mode option correctly.

The same issue exists for Create Storage Pool.

Perform the action from the Host Group or Storage Pool tab.

1433

CB 500 blade model appears as NA in the compute summary window.

Click on the Refresh icon located in the compute summary window. Once refresh is complete, go to the chassis view and navigate back to compute summary.

1435

Chassis (alias) is modified after upgrade to 2.5.0 from 2.0P1.

Two Toolbox items show up in the "Files in use" window during uninstallation.

There is no difference between the two items.
Choose either Toolbox item.

309

You can onboard host names or IP addresses. However, there is no capability to convert or compare IP addresses to host names with vCenter.

For example, if the host is registered in vCenter using its host name, and the node is onboarded with its IP address, some features, such as vSAN drives, do not display any information.

Use the IP address for onboarding.

464

All tabs under Administration fail to load after the system is left idle.

This issue occurs after adding servers and navigating to the Servers tab, then leaving the UI idle.

Upon returning to the Administration section, all of the tabs such as Configuration, Compute, Storage, Network, Backup, and Log Bundle fail to load and display errors such as, "Loading configuration failed" or  "Loading Compute failed" with no data shown in the windows.

This is a session ID timeout issue. The session timeout occurs after 25 minutes.

Navigate back from vCenter Home > UCP Advisor icon, select an appliance, and access the Administration tab or navigate further.

657

The confirmation window will not close after the power operation fails, due to the same power state.

This occurs while attempting to perform the same power operation that the server state is already in (for example, power ON while the server is already ON). Even after the operation fails, the confirmation box remains open.

Close the confirmation window by selecting the close button or the X icon on the window.

835

All device-related operations do not work with host name/FQDN.

Use the host IP address instead.

872

Unable to download files through the Swagger UI.

Downloaded files appear corrupted when they are downloaded from Swagger UI.

Use an https call in a browser, use postman client, or other methods to download files.

This is a known Swagger issue:

https://github.com/swagger-api/swagger-ui/issues/1605

876

vRO Storage workflows: Storage systems do not appear in the menu for selection.

The added storage is not listed in the HitachiStorageConnector list.

1) Add the storage device using a vRO workflow.

2) Open the workflow Create LU in dynamic Pool and try selecting the added storage in the Hitachi storage array field.

Use the Filter tab to identify and select the storage system, or use the vRO web client.

882

Swagger UI cannot handle very large files.

The UploadFirmwareBundle REST API call cannot be executed through the Swagger UI because the firmware bundle is large (file size is greater than 3.5 GB).

The Swagger UI returns a no content response, and the operation is not executed.

Use a curl command to execute this API.

929

Replace host workflow fails to remove host from vCenter if host is part of vDS.

Replace host workflow fails at the very end if host is part of a vDS.

Remove the host from vDS and then try removing it from vCenter.

984

UI crashes when multiple appliances are created or when multiple sessions are active.

After multiple UCP appliances are created or when multiple users access the same vCenter, the server windows fail to load information or show errors:

1. Individual managed objects fail to load.

2. Incorrect server count is shown: 0 in most places.

3. Permission denied errors are displayed.

Navigate out of UCP Advisor and then navigate back in.

1013

Syslog agent does not forward compute device logs after the Windows service is restarted.

Restart the UCP Advisor Windows service after the Syslog agent Windows service is restarted.

1070

vCenter inventory (Host and Cluster) shows blank in provision datastore, deploy ESXi host, replace ESXi host and VLAN synchronization.

1. Create folder under datacenter and add ESXi to it.

2. Navigate to Provision datastore >Deploy host > VLAN sync > Replace hosts wizard.

UCP Advisor cannot get vCenter inventory when the vCenter datacenter contains a folder.

Manually remove the folder under datacenter from the vCenter inventory.

1177

VLAN name should accept special characters as supported by the switch.

Switches support special characters ~`@#$%^&*()_-+ in a VLAN name. UCP Advisor does not accept these characters while creating a new VLAN.

Avoid using the special characters ~`@#$%^&*()_-+ in a VLAN name.

1205

Update peer switch not able to update/find peer Brocade switch.

Create the same VLAN in all the required peer switches through the switch UI in UCP Advisor.

1380

GetComputeDevice API call requires DeviceIP instead of Device ID. GetComputeChassis API as well.

Use IP address for Device ID.

UI provisioning workflow cannot unreserve IP addresses.

The UI doesn't have a workflow to unreserve an IP address that has been reserved for a host.

If an IP address is no longer needed for a host, use the following API to unreserve the IP address:

curl -X POST --header 'Content-Type: application/json' --header 'Accept: application/json' --header 'X-Auth-Token: <token>' -d '{ \

   "hostIpAddresses": [ \

     "<reservedIP>" \

   ] \

}' 'https://<controllerip>:23015/api/v1/
baremetal-docs/baremetal/objects/provision-manager/actions/UnreserveIpAddress/invoke'

2193

OS provisioning fails with EOF error.

Intermittently, the OS provisioning might fail with "Failed to provision target node…EOF"

Retry the OS provisioning operation on the failed target node.

2218

OS provisioning with a large iso greater than 8 GB causes a UCP Advisor Gateway VM resource hog.

When provisioning with a large iso, the UCP Advisor Gateway VM might hang due to post processing of the large iso image.

Check to see if the target node completed even though the operation fails. If it did not, retry the OS provisioning operation. If the UCP Advisor Gateway VM becomes unresponsive, reboot the VM.

2226

OS provisioning times out intermittently.

On occasion the OS provisioning operation times out. However, the node may eventually boot after 1.5 hours due to booting stuck at network boot.

Manually reboot the server and change the boot option to hard disk as option 1, save settings, and reboot. The OS should then come online.

2240

Concurrent provisioning: Operation does not continue for the next batch if provisioning fails for the first batch.

In certain scenarios when provisioning is initiated in a large number of nodes, the operation is broken down into batches, and if the first batch fails the remaining batches do not start.

Retry the OS provisioning operation for the remaining target nodes.

2243

Provisioning two different operating systems in concurrent operations might fail.

When attempting to deploy two different operating systems such as Red Hat and ESXi, one after the other for the first time, the operating systems might fail to download and cause the OS provisioning operation to fail.

Retry the OS provisioning operation for the remaining target nodes.

2491

FC switch online ports does not show connected host and storage device details.

When onboarding the host, if the host is not onboarded with the ESXi host information, the FC switch ports info won't show the connected host and storage device details.

Edit the server information with the ESXi host details.

Go to Administration -> Compute -> Edit Compute Device

2494

Editing alias operation removes alias member if it is not online.

If the alias member is no longer online, the member will not show when editing the alias.

Ensure that the host is online in the fabric, once online the edit alias operation will show the host again.

2514

Using onboard sheet server label and chassis label fields may onboard chassis into separate groups if not all servers are part of onboarding sheet.

This occurs when not all the blade info is part of the onboard sheet. If additional blades are detected, those blades will not have the server label and chassis label applied and thus the UI will show the blade info in two groups.

To ensure all blades are under the same chassis inventory, ensure that all blades are part of the onboard sheet.

2519

A low space error may be seen if the gateway VM runs out of space due to too many images in repository.

"Missing or invalid input: low storage disk space; only 1GB disk space left after new template is created; please free more disk space and retry!"

This occurs when the number of images in the repository utilizes more disk space than is available.

Login to the UCP Advisor Gateway VM and run the following:

razor policies – to list all policies
razor repos – to list all repos
razor delete-policy <policy name>
razor delete-repo <repo>

2534

Loading UCP system failed.

Onboarding compute node fails with large number of compute nodes being onboarded at same time.

Retry using onboard sheet or add compute node manually.

2598

Operation icons go missing

Refresh browser after navigating through Advisor plugin for some time icons occasionally goes missing.

Refresh browser.

2653

The updateComputePassword API operation fails and the BMC is no longer accessible with either the old password or the new password.

Turn off power to the BMC, and then turn it on again.  This might require you to unplug it from its power source.  Retry accessing the BMC using the new password.  Onboard the server again to the UCPA inventory using the new BMC password.

2680

Unable to connect to the appliance.

If you enter a vCenter IP address when connecting to an appliance that was registered with a vCenter FQDN, the appliance fails with error "vCenter does not belong to given site," even though the vCenter is valid.

When connecting to the appliance, enter the vCenter FQDN instead of the vCenter IP address.

2705

No servers are listed based on policy.

After upgrading the UCP Advisor software, when performing OS provisioning, no servers are listed after selecting a policy.

Remove the servers from the inventory and onboard them again.

2899

OS not being installed with HTTPS repository.

After initiating OS provisioning with an HTTPS repository, the server fails to boot the OS image.

Initiate OS provisioning with an HTTP repository instead of an HTTPS repository.

DM-6618

In the deployment manager, unable to enter alphanumeric characters for the following network and system settings: vCenter VM Name, Datacenter Name, Portgroup Name.

Creating a vCenter VM, datacenter, or portgroup fails if you enter alphanumeric character for their respective names.

Enter only alpha character strings for vCenter VM names, datacenter names, and portgroup names.  After the VM, datacenter, and portgroup have been created, you can use the vCenter console to modify the names using alphanumeric characters.
