How to Collect LPAR Dump on CB500 and CB2500

Objective

Dump collection procedure for troubleshooting LPAR related issues.

Environment

• Hitachi Compute Blade 500 (CB500)
• Hitachi Compute Blade 2500 (CB2500)

Procedure

1. Log onto Hitachi Compute Blade management SVP.
2. Select the blade where the LPAR in question is.
3. Go to 'LPAR' tab.
4. Expand the 'Action' menun on bottom right.
5. Select 'Collect LP dump log'.
6. Wait until collection finished, then click 'OK' to save the dump log.
   Example dump log name "HvmDump_<blade number>_<date>.dmp"
