Expedite the troubleshooting process for the most common issues by reviewing and answering the following questions for your product. 

General Troubleshooting Questions

  1. Which protocol needs to be captured?
    1. Options include the following:
      1. Fibre Channel
      2. Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)
      3. Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI)
      4. Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP)
      5. Ethernet
  2. Is there a specific small computer system interface (SCSI) error that occurs?
  3. Is the problem reproducible?
    1. Or must the analyzer wait for a random event to occur?
  4. Can downtime be arranged so that the analyzer can be inserted in-line between the switch and the storage?
    1. Or between the host bus adaptor (HBA) and the switch?
  5. If downtime cannot be arranged, are there pre-installed TAPS in the SAN infrastructure that can be used to attach the analyzer?
  6. If there is no SCSI error that occurs, is it a performance issue?
    1. I.e., Everything works but is slow?
  7. Will it be possible to simultaneously capture detailed dump, switch supportsaves, and host getconfigs so that all data points may be examined in correlation with issues seen in the analyzer trace?
