Brocade FCX Log Collection

  1. You will need to have access to a TFTP server to obtain the show tech from this switch. A regular FTP server will not work. You can find an application online that supports TFTP - such as SolarWinds TFTP server application or any other you are familiar with.

  2. You will need a Telnet application such as Putty, Secure CRT or TeraTerm to access the switch.

The following are the steps you will use to gather the logs using a Telnet or SSH connection:

    > enable
    Password: (see UCP vSphere KB...)
    Brocade-FCX648-A# show tech

  3. Once the command "show tech" has been run the output will begin running. At this point you should have your telnet application setup to log the output to a file.

  4. Once complete, zip the file and upload to TUF.
