Expedite the troubleshooting process for the most common issues by reviewing and answering the following questions for your product. 

Top Troubleshooting Questions

  1. What kind of problem are you experiencing? Or what question do you have regarding Dynamic Provisioning? (more detail the better)
  2. Where are you administering and seeing the issues with the Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning (HDP)? (e.g., SNM2, Storage Navigator, HCS)?
  3. What action has been taken before contacting support?
  4. If problem, what specific DP Pools are involved?
  5. Does the Microcode version support the feature you are trying to use?
    1. If this is an install: Is it licensed?
  6. Is this an existing configuration?  Or if this is a new install, is this a CE or GSS or Customer install?
  7. Is the HDP pool out of space?
  8. Please collect the error message screenshot and take a midrange simple trace or collect a enterprise subsystem dump.
  9. Do you have access to the user's guide for HDP?
  10. If this is related to ZPR (Zero Page Reclaim), have you reclaimed space from the operating system prior to reclaiming it on the storage?
