Changing the administrator password using the maintenance utility

You can change the administrator password by using the maintenance utility. To change the administrator password, you need to log in as the administrator.

CautionWhen the administrator account you log in to is the same as a user account specified by the storage system registered in the Storage Device List, the password set for the account by the maintenance utility and the password set for the account by the Storage Device List must be the same. If these passwords are different, error 20122-208003 occurs the next time you use Device Manager - Storage Navigator. If this error occurs, configure the user account information specified for the registered system of the Storage Device List window. For details, see the Hardware Reference Guide for your storage system.

Before you begin

  • Before changing the password of a user account specified by the storage system registered in the Storage Device List window, open the Storage Device List window and click Stop Service for the registered storage system.
