PDU installation for Universal V3 Rack
You can install and replace PDUs on the Hitachi Universal V3 Rack.
Workflow for PDU installation:
- Install the PDU mounting rails on the rack.
- Install the PDUs on the PDU mounting rails in the rack.
Installing the PDU mounting rails on the rack
The first step in PDU installation is to install the PDU mounting rails on the vertical rails of the rack.
Before you begin
You will need the following tools and components:
- T25 screwdriver
- T25 screws (10)
Procedure
Place the PDU mounting rail on the middle vertical rail of the right side of the rack, and hold it in place with a screw at the top position.
Fix the mounting rail in place with four additional screws.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the left side of the rack.
Installing the PDU
After installing the PDU mounting rails on the rack, you can install up to 3 PDUs on each side of the rack.
Before you begin
You will need the following tools and components:
- 3mm screwdriver
- PDU key (1 per PDU)
Procedure
Connect the PDU to the mouting rails as follows:
Slide the bottom PDU button into the mounting rail at a 45-degree angle.
Slide the top PDU button into the mounting rail.
Push the PDU in a downward direction to lock it into place.
Slide the PDU key into the top slot of the PDU.
Using a screwdriver, bend the tab on the PDU to lock the PDU key in place.
