NiceVision Connector
The NiceVision connector for Visualization Suite enables communication with NiceVision VMS. The connector supports the addition of videos from an existing NiceVision system to the Hitachi Video Insights ecosystem by seamlessly integrating videos from the VMS.
Prerequisites and configuration considerations
- NiceVision runs on a Windows machine (32 or 64 bit).
- The NiceVision connector runs on a 64 bit Windows machine.
- Video channels can be discovered through the NiceVision VMS.
- The NiceVision SDK must be installed (the SDK package is available for download from TISC).
- Viewing the NiceVision exported clip require NiceVision Player. Contact your administrator.
- See this KB article for the expected values for the configuration file (Visualization Suite CameraStreamer.JSON).
See Installation Guide for the instructions for installing and configuring the connector. For the download instructions, go to Navigating TISC.
Features
On-Screen Display size is configurable using connector configuration file.
- Open the CamerasStreamer.json file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Hitachi Vantara\HVSNV121Connector6.3.0.2 with text editor such as Notepad++.
- Navigate to the bottom of the CamerasStreamer.json file
- Change the
OSDFontSettings
. For example, change the size to 16 (fount size). - Save the changes.
- Restart HVS NiceVison connector from window service.
- Log in to HVS and stream NiceVison camera. Live, playback, and export stream should show the referected size changes.
See the Video Connector Matrix for the supported VMS features for this connector.
Fixed Issue
The following issues have been resolved in this release of Visualization Suite.
Reference number | Description | Fix |
PS-9343 | Export clip fails when Thai characters are part of the Camera or VMS name. | The Export clip now works for even camera has thai characters are part of the Camera or VMS name. |
PS-9605 | The on-screen display (OSD) such as the date/time, and camera name, is shown in a very small font size in Visualization Suite which is not legible. | The on-screen display (OSD) is configurable, see Feature section. |
Known SDK limitation
The following items are the known SDK limitations and behaviours. Currently, no workarounds exist.
- If no archived video is on the recorder for the specified time range, a no clip message is returned.
- If there is archived video on the recorder for the specified time range, from the first available to the end time is returned. A precise start time or end time is not required. For example, you can request a 5 minute clip, but 2 minutes might be returned depending on the availability of the archived records.
- If archived video is on the recorder for the specified time range (specified start time to 6 hours), it starts from the first available.
- If no archived video is on the recorder for the specified time range, a generic error message is returned.
- If a future time is selected, a no clip message is returned.
Reference number | Summary | Description | Workaround |
